When filing for bankruptcy, having an attorney on your side can make all of the difference. Chances are you are already frustrated with your financial situation and stressed out because of all the problems that result from a lack of funds. Entering into a bankruptcy case without help will only multiply that frustration and stress, especially if you have no experience dealing with legal processes and language.
Partnering with a bankruptcy lawyer will streamline the entire process and ease your stress and frustration. The bankruptcy code, court procedures and filing forms are saturated with legal jargon that will complicate the overall bankruptcy process if you don’t have the assistance from a legal professional.
William P. Kain and Wesley W. Scott, bankruptcy lawyers practicing in St. Cloud, Brainerd, Monticello and beyond, have helped hundreds of debtors just like you. They are experienced legal professionals prepared to help you get your life back, without judgment.
William P. Kain
William Kain, or Bill, has been practicing law for over 30 years. He attended Saint John’s University where he graduated with honors, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in History and English. From here he went directly to the University of Minnesota Law School to pursue his Juris Doctor and Law degrees.
For the first eight years of his career he practiced bankruptcy, criminal defense and family law at Eller Schiff and Kain. During this time he began volunteering as an attorney for Central Minnesota Legal Services, which he continues doing today.
Today he is a partner with Kain & Scott, and has been for over 22 years. Throughout his time at Kain & Scott he has remained active in education. Since 2002 and 2007 he has taught “Ethics in Bankruptcy Practice” and “Bankruptcy Issues in Family Law”, respectively, for the Minnesota State Bar, Continuing Learning Education.
He continues to enjoy helping those who fall into unfortunate financial situations get back on their feet. Mary, from Cold Spring, Minnesota, thanked Bill for all of his help during her troubling time, summing up his personality perfectly, and “I want to thank you so very much for all you have done for me. Your kindness was really appreciated. Mr. Kain, you were so very nice to me. If I ever needed someone special, it was you. Thanks again!”
