If you are a resident of Minnesota, be careful about getting sucked into using services of an out of state marketing company, or out of state law firm trying to help you File Bankruptcy in MinnesotaSome of these companies have www.glassdoor.com reviews from their former employees that are scathing.

Beware Of Scammers

I saw one recent Glassdoor review that said the company “is a scam.”  This is a review from a former employee, in Chicago. Now, if your employee calls your law firm a “scam” your ears should perk up a little bit, no?

Here’s another example, you see a Google advertisement and click on it and suddenly found yourself on a “law firms” website in Chicago.  I will be honest, I don’t know much about their business model for filing bankruptcy, but from what I have been told by lawyers, and clients, and what I’ve read online, I don’t like it.

Bankruptcy Law Referral Sources

I have also heard there are companies who refer you up with a lawyer in Minnesota to “help” you file bankruptcy. What the fee split is between this out of state company, and the local attorney is I am not sure, but I do know some of the attorneys they use don’t always have a lot of bankruptcy experience in Minnesota.

Instead of relying on a referral company, who is fee splitting with a willing lawyer, perhaps you should do your own research and find your own local bankruptcy lawyer to help you with filing bankruptcy. I want all of our Minnesota guests to be on the watch for out of state companies and or/ law firms trying to contract with Minnesota guests to file bankruptcy by linking them with a Minnesota Bankruptcy Attorney who isn’t the most reputable in handling bankruptcy cases. One lawyer, in particular, might do 10% bankruptcy work and the rest something else completely.
